Kimberly Wolfe’s hands have created,

for as long as she can remember. “As a child I made mosaics from collected natural treasures and copied Disney movie poster artwork on dry erase boards. As a teenager I thrived in art classes and began honing my skills to translate what I saw into what I drew. In college I studied architecture and continued to draw inspiration for my designs from the natural world. In grad school I studied historic preservation and gained a deep appreciation for built environments that connect us to those who came before us. After resigning from my position as an Architectural Historian to stay home with my three creative and curious daughters, I leaned into my strong desire to create and have been painting from my home studio ever since. Whether fishing and foraging as near as my grandfather’s ranchland or immersing myself in the architectural histories as far away as the shikumens in Shanghai, I draw inspiration for my painting from nature’s color palette and our built environment. I work primarily with acrylics and watercolor to create works that connect me and my audience to the beauty and wonder of the world around us. Follow her on Instagram: @kimberly_wolfe_artist
